Cultivating connection, exploring local issues, and celebrating rural communities using theater and storytelling.
“You should be proud of where you live. Living in a rural area doesn’t mean you’re settling for something less.” -Ann Thompson, Greater Milan Initiative
The Defrost Project is a collective of artists working to cultivate connection, explore local issues, and celebrate rural communities using theater and storytelling.
Throughout 2020-21, we’re partnering with the folks in Milan, Minnesota on a community-wide project!

QUESTION OF THE MONTH
The Defrost Project and Greater Milan Initiative Present: The Milan Question of the Month!
Each month, we’ll share a community-wide question aiming to spark curiosity and connection throughout Milan. We’ll bring all the monthly questions and responses together as part of a big, theatrical, community-wide celebration in the spring/summer of 2021 (safety permitting)!
October’s Question Is:
What is an act of care that you have given, received, or witnessed in Milan in the past few months?
